Nearly four and a half months following the previous coach's initial media briefing as the club's head coach, his replacement the German coach faced the media at Rangers' stadium for the initial occasion.

The scale of the challenge ahead of him is widely recognized, given his predecessor's chaotic and disappointing four-month tenure.

The ex- Sheffield Wednesday manager was accompanied by chairman the chairman, along with the much-criticized pair of football director Kevin Thelwell and CEO Patrick Stewart.

But what precisely did we learn from the young German's maiden media outing as the club's manager?

Rohl's Primary Focus - Victory Comes First

A single message emerged loud and clear from Rohl's first appearance in front of the Scottish media - he understands the necessity to secure victories, and do so quickly.

The previous manager Russell Martin managed just 17 games and four months as manager, so the inquiry emerged about what timeframe Rohl thinks is realistic to transform the struggling squad.

Although deftly sidestepping a direct answer that might create later expectations, Rohl's communication was quite clear.

"With hope as soon as possible," he stated. "This is essential.
"In this business you have limited time. One can talk about future plans but we know it's about immediate results and the short-term is about securing victories. This is what I demand.
"One thing is also obvious - I require every squad member to understand how we want to play. I return to my primary message: victory comes first, it's attractive and it's together. By following this order, I believe that I'll stay for years at the club."

Pressure is Normal

The previous manager needed security protection to leave the stadium after his final match as manager.

We've witnessed how toxic environments can turn at football clubs when performances decline. Protests have almost become an expected part of game day experience on each part of the city these days.

As Rangers' youngest ever head coach, the inquiry was posed about which attributes Rohl believes he possesses that would enable him to cope, never mind thrive, in one of the highest-pressure positions in British football?

"In my opinion expectations in football is normal," he stated. "One needs to understand that very quickly.
"I think certain individuals could reference my youth but I'm a decade and a half in this career. I experienced a great opportunity to be at Bayern Munich and serve as just the assistant coach, but I experienced what it means to manage a team and the demands you face.
"When you start winning games and then some critics will say you must play attractive football. That becomes the stage but that's exactly what I want. I relish that challenge and I'm excited about the future."

The Sporting Director Defends Chermiti Signing & Appointing His Son

Kevin Thelwell media conference

The media pack had plenty of questions from journalists for Thelwell.

Much discussion has concerned the appointment of Robbie Thelwell as recruitment chief, with fans skeptical about his credentials for the position.

However, he defended and clarified the decision to recruit his son to the club.

"It's always uncomfortable to listen and in appearance I think everyone understood when we took this decision to appoint Robbie that he'd be seen negatively," Thelwell said.
"The truth of the situation is that we aim to bring the top players here.
"My perspective on his professional path and situation is he required no family help in football.
"He's worked at Villa as a senior scout, he then moved to Norwich as scouting chief and then got promoted to development role.
"Before we hiring him, multiple Premier League teams sought to sign him. Our approach from the beginning of proceedings was consult with the CEO, the chairman and deputy chairman Marathe about this situation.
"I was extremely transparent and I believe Robbie probably experienced a more rigorous procedure than anybody else employee by this football club.
"I'm certain is that he'll labor constantly to achieve success for Rangers and I anticipate to him proving that he's going to be a valuable employee for Rangers."

Thelwell also defended the signing of striker Youssef Chermiti, who joined Rangers for a reported initial fee of eight million pounds, having failed to score in 24 appearances for his previous club.

The sporting director who transferred the Portugal youth international to Liverpool from Sporting - once more for large funds in a fifteen million pound deal.

The question came if he stands by his multi-million pound signing, who hasn't yet register in seven outings for Rangers.

"Yes, very much so," Thelwell responded. "I think Youssef Chermiti represents who's got huge potential.
"I've never questioned him in any way. Again, I think Danny will help to get the best out of the player.
"These are early days for the young player, he remains young talent and naturally with young talents they sometimes require patience.
"But I'm certain over the course of his career here he'll demonstrate that he is very, very good player."

Stewart Understands Supporters' Frustration and Hurt

The chief executive was in the media firing line, given the criticism that has been directed at him by certain of the club's own supporters.

Additionally, there was a sign in the stadium during the last draw with United inviting him - and the sporting director - to pack his bags before they were packed for them.

Similar to the sporting director, Stewart didn't avoid the issue.

"I completely appreciate the disappointment and hurt that fans are feeling because results recently haven't been good enough and no one is happy with those," he stated.
"The pain and disappointment fans experience is matched inside the boardroom.
"Recognize that there has to be an outlet for those frustrations and as chief executive, that's me.
"I'm a lightning rod for such issues and my responsibility as a
