Large-scale Russian Attacks Cut Power Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to drinking water, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was lost their life in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

The strikes succeed periods of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to identify.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were bracing for more assaults.
